MATT POE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST COACHES IN the usa in 1996 TO OFFER PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AGES 5 YEARS AND UP for speed and power development in the areas of resistance training and movement development. HE REMAINS SOUGHT BY ORTHOPAEDISTS AND PEDIATRIC DOCTORS ON HIS OPINIONS ON FITNESS and movement development FOR CHILDREN.
MATT HAS MADE SURE THAT POE'S GYM IS AN ENVIRONMENT OF EXAMPLE AND PROGRESSION FOR YOUTH FITNESS FROM PREPUBESCENTS THROUGH THE ADOLESCENTS.
matt's teaching is exemplified with his below program's foundation for all youth athletes. if you never seek Matt's services, his below teaching fundamentals are worth the read!!!
Simply stated, “Sports Performance Development is the biomechanics required to achieve optimal sports specific movements in the most efficient manner with the baseline, reference formula of distance divided time".
"Generally, power development is executed when the optimal sports specific positioning is in the range of 0-60 meters. Generally, speed development is executed when the optimal sports specific positioning is in the range of 60-100 meters. Most athlete's needs are between 0-60 meters".
Neuro-firing patterns can be developed and refined at very early ages.
The General Phases of Sports Performance Development
Phase I > A major component of developing athletes at an early age is building neuro-firing patterns with a strong foundation by educating the athlete on his or her optimal sports specific positioning.
Phase II > As the athlete grows, focus should be distributed to more muscular development that will aid in more efficient nuero-firing patterns.
Phase III > Finally, when the athlete is mature, the primary focus should be neuro-muscular facilitation while training sports performance development.
